"Teach Me Lord" is the debut album from The Guyer Family, a family band who are first am foremost about celebrating their religion through music. The Guyer clan have been singing together "for as long as they can remember" , according to the open letter to fans on the back cover (see full text below). This collection of worship songs consist of nine cover songs and one original, Beautiful Savior which is the final song. The familial quartet consists of Delane, Yvonne, Joan and Tony. The songs on this album are both dedicated to the recently deceased Leo Guyer. the family's patriarch, who was the baritone when the family was a quintet. as well as their Heavenly Father. Because the Guyers are all singers, the album features instrumental accompaniment from pianist Yvonne Schiller, organist Ron Spann. steel guitars, Jim Baker, Drums by Kerry Beatty and string arrangements by Woody Beatty. The album was recorded at Hilltop Studio with the help of engineer Kevin McMann while Woody Beatty pulled double duty ptofuvinh the album as well as being in charge of the strings. The opening song "Teach me Lord To Wait, was a favorite of the late elder Guyer which was taken from his favorite bible verse. According to the short note addressed to "Friends", Leo Guyers' dream for his family to sing for the lord. With this album accomplished, The surviving Guyers now dream that listeners will say "Teach Me, Lord". In addition to photographs on both the front and back cover, the Guyers chose to list not only thier phone numbers but even their home addresses. At the time of the recording of this record, the Guyers lived in various small towns in Illinois. Less naive is the inclusion of the family motto on the back cover art- "The Guyer Family: Singing You The Good Gospel:
