The Harmony Gold-Tones always please their audiences by featuring a wide variety of music as you will note on this, their first album. Performing primarily in West Central Wisconsin, the group has developed a large and loyal following through many public ap- pearances and radio broadcasts with Chris Millunzi on WAXX-AM and WEAU-FM, Eau Claire, Wisconsin. Featured in the band is Laverne (Andy) Anderson on drums and left- handed fiddle. Over the years he has played with numerous old-time, modern, and country groups. Andy was instrumental in forming the Harmony Gold-Tones in 1973. Jim Wirth is the lead trumpet man and is featured on many vocals as well as playing drums when Andy is working out on the left-handed fiddle. He studies music at the University of Wisconsin, Eau Claire, where he gained valuable experience playing in the University jazz band. Jim has played with area dance bands for several years. Ted Wirth plays trumpet, clarinet, and tenor sax and has played with numerous bands in the Chicago area, Minnesota, and Wiscon- sin, including such groups as Fezz Fritsche, Bobby Art's Wisconsin Dutchmen, and Ernie Reck. Ted also does writing and arranging for the band. Bob Stewart rounds out the group on cordovox, piano, guitar, and organ. Bob is a music teacher and tunes pianos. He has provided back-up music for country singers and has played in area dance bands for many years.
