Band,
Rock and Pop
The Illusions were a rock n' roll band active in the early to late sixties on the California coast. Not to be confused with the Doo-Wop group or the Michigan Garage rock band. They are one of the many bands to bare the name "The Illusions." They released a few singles during their career and had a steady gig as the house band for The Lido Ballroom. During their career they shared the stage with the likes of The Beach Boys, The Ivy Clansmen, The Cascades and Dick Dale. By 1965 they were the house band for local club The Cinnamon Cinder. They made many television appearances broadcast from the cinder, playing back up for the likes of Ike & Tina Turner, Bobby Day, Johnny Fortune, Dick & Dee Dee and others. The band decided to call it quits in 1969 when the Lido Ballroom was forced to close its doors.
