In 1972 during the first Doo Wop "revival," Bim Bam Boom Magazine along with its major competitor Record Exchanger Magazine, both launched their own competing record labels. Bim Bam Boom sought to find previously unissued material and hard to find originals to reissue. In their pursuit of this goal they hooked up with Al Browne and purchased the rights to a number of his records and masters. One was this record by the Inspirations, which Al had recorded in the late 1950s for his Aljon label, but had never released it on any label. And in fact, I will let you in on a secret. So much time had passed that Al had even forgotten the real name of the group (and the notes ion the master tape were missing the group’s name), so when they asked him who the group was, he looked at the song title ("My Inspiration") and his answer was THE INSPIRATIONS!
