Modern Jazz purists and the name Joe Sample don’t quite hit a positive note, and that’s simply because they’ve forgotten his Jazz roots or haven’t quite traced back much of his rare or hard-to-find traditional Jazz material. That’s what we’re doing in Session #16. We’re reminding listeners that despite the Jazz-fusion success he’s had, Joe is also quite the swinger himself. All Jousters sampled the song ‘Manhã Do Carnaval’ taken off Joe Sample’s 1976 ‘The Three’ album, released on a Japanese based label called East Wind Records. This session features production contributions from Es-K, Gadget, RickMal, Blue Buttonz, SmokedBeat and Bones The Beat Head, who also did the art work. The next release will be available on Sunday February 17th February on Millennium Jazz Music.
