The Kazoo-O-Phonic Jug Band were a one-off project comprised of long-time Van Ronk associate Luke Faust on jug; Mark Greenberg (4) on banjo, guitar, washtub bass and mandolin; clarinetist Billy Novick on pennywhistle; and fiddle player Jay Ungar playing behind Dave Van Ronk on kazoo and raspy narration under his Uncle Moose pseudonym. Following the recording of the 1990 children's album, "Peter And The Wolf", banjoist Eric Weissberg and fiddle player Kenny Kosek joined; with the group being renamed The Paleothica Promoosica Jug Band for a pair of gigs at New York City's Lincoln Center and The Flynn Theater in Burlington, Vermont.
