Singer of Jazz and Pop
Comic vocal trio active from the late 1920s to 1962. Formed by a group of high school friends from Rochester, Indiana, George Howard, Fritz Bastow, and John Ravencroft, the trio eventually sang with dance orchesters, toured hotels, and performed live on the radio all over the midwest, first under the name Howard's Melody Syncopaters, later as Howard Trio. Their breakthrough came when Paul Whiteman hired them for his orchestra (1930-1931) and featured them as "The King's Jesters."
