Rock and Pop
The Kontroversy is a '60s style rock & roll band, formed in Kansas City in 1981. Kevin Sanders (formerly a founding member of The Leopards) founded the band with his brother Tim on drums, Fred Prellberg on bass, and Barry Johnson on lead guitar, who was later replaced by Ken Carey. The band released a 7" on Kansas City’s famed Titan label in 1984, before Fred relocated to the Chicago area and the remaining three went their separate ways. After thirty years, Kevin, Tim, and Fred, along with Tim’s son Zeb, decided to get together to complete the album the band began working on after the release of their 7", which was released in early 2015.
