Electronic, Jazz and Rock
A.k.a. Fred de Fred, Marion Benoist
French couple (hence "The Lovers"), based in Sheffield, UK. Music style, expect quirky electronic Burlesque-like tracks –usually with a theme of sex and food– done in a satirical French stereotypical manner. Having met Jarvis Cocker (of Pulp fame), and having him write three tracks for them, the single "Crik Crak" was probably their breakthrough track, helping lead to a BBC Radio 1 Maida Vale session for DJ Rob Da Bank and much live work with some recording too. A couple of albums have been released, "The Lovers" (2004), and "Pardon My French" (2008), along with a remix album featuring tracks from their self-titled debut called "Ménage À Trois" (2009).
