The McGuires were a San Francisco-based post-New Wave alternative rock band. They were very visible on the live music scene around 1987-88, and their recordings received favorable media coverage and reviews. The band broke up by 1990 but they periodically put on reunion concerts. Bassist Adam Savetsky also performed and recorded with singer-songwriter Johnny J Blair "Singer at Large", with Blair subbing on bass for a McGuires reunion show in 1990.
