Album US 1961 on Atlantic label
Jazz (Contemporary Jazz)
Piano. Born Jacksonville, Florida, February 14, 1930. Took piano lessons since he was five. Teamed with Willie Ruff. Their duo recordings and club dates in the late 50's were well received by both listeners and critics. In the early 60's they opened their own club in New Haven, Connecticut, switching from time to time to the Hickory House in New York. Excellent pianist with good technical abilities. This is the first Atlantic recording in their own club, great Atmosphere.
