The Mopes were a short-lived band featuring then-current and former members of Screeching Weasel and The Queers, led by guitarist/vocalist Danny Vapid. Their music was a combination of poppy numbers sung by Vapid and surf-influenced instrumentals. The band played 3 shows (2 in Chicago and 1 in San Francisco) and released 2 records before splitting in 1999.
