Your trumpets continue to reach countless ears! -Thank you to our Father and His Son Jesus Christ (D&C 18:15) -To the thousands serving in the field... You inspire us! This music is for you. (D&C 4) Why did we make this album? we do hope that young men and young women who hear these songs want to run to their bishop and tell him the exact date they want to turn in their mission papers. We do hope that all who have served in the mission field, after hearing this album, remember the plain and precious moments of their own mission. We hope that all who have supported the missionary service of a mother, father, brother, sister, niece, nephew, cousin, aunt or uncle remember their beautiful, heart-warming letters. But this is not why we made this album. We made this album to let the world know what being part of a culture that sends missionaries into the world - two by two, thousands at a time - means to us as a people. We want the world to know that thousands of valiant young people leave their families and everything they know, and forget themselves and learn to serve and love others in various countries of this earth. We want them to know that mothers all over the world get on their knees nightly and pray for their sons and daughters - that the Lord might keep them safe, that their tongues will be loosed and that they will have the power to bring souls unto Christ. We want everyone to know what this culture of missionaries means to us. And if they know, then maybe they will be more likely to hear what these wonderful young people have to say. And if nothing else, perhaps they will simply be nice to them. This is our prayer. -Jason Deere Jason Deere regularly invites a revolving cast of talented artists and musicians that he calls the Nashville Tribute Band to join him in touring the world performing the stories and songs from the albums Joseph: A Nashville Tribute To The Prophet, Trek: A Nashville Tribute To The Pioneers and THE WORK: A Nashville Tribute To The Missionaries.
