The Nerves were a 3-piece band formed in Stafford England in October 1977. The band featured Martyn Heath on vocals and guitar, John Glover on drums and Paul Casson on bass. After only 10 weeks in existence the band signed to Graduate Records with their only single T.V. Adverts b/w Sex Education being released on 7 April 1978 on the London based Lightning Records. The single was produced by Climax Blues Band keyboard player Richard Jones and ultimately reached number one in the UK Alternative Charts. In early 1978 the band did a short tour of France. After the release of the single Mick Boden replaced Paul Casson on Bass. The band recorded a session for and were interviewed by Bruno Brookes for Radio Stoke but was never broadcast due to all participants high spirits and severe inebriation. The band eventually split in 1980.
