Band,
R&B/Soul and World
A.k.a. The Jivers (5)
The band was formed in 1955 in Lynchburg, Virgina as The Jivers (5) and changed their personell and style multiple times over the course of the next years. In 1970 they released their debut album "The New Sounds". The album suggests the band's name to be The New Sound (without "s"), yet the album cover (and title) is "The New Sounds". Their other published work in the 1970s is usually credited just New Sound. This led to confusion in modern times. Most recordings appearing as re-issues or on modern compilations credit The New Sounds as band name.
