The News was a four member Armenian-Lebanese rock band formed in Beirut in the late 1960s. The band broke up in 1979. The original line up was John Taslakian (known as John Wilde (4)), Lead guitar / Vocals / Flute / Songwriter Ara Hadjian (known as Arem Young), Drums / Vocals [1968-1972] Mike Postian (known as Mike Poster), Keyboards / Vocals / Bass pedal / Guitar Jack Tamoukian (known as Jack MacDonald) Bass guitar / Vocals [1968-1974] Avo Kayayan (known as Alvin Davies) Drums / Vocals [1972-1975] Avo replaced Ara Hadjian on 1972.
