The Niyat is an underground hip hop group from Houston, Texas. Formed out of several early to mid '90's groups in Houston such as The Psyko Ward, Poetic Souls, Plifedis the core members consist of Snap aka Clay Red, D-Ology aka Doc MindBender, Synato Watts aka Khalifamin, and sometimes Tabu Da Rekka aka Starkiller. The name Niyat is an Arabic word for : intention. They have taken on the responsibility of not only rocking crowds with heavy wordplay but undertaken the task of raising the consciousness of the those who share in the joy of what they have created.
