The Nobodies were founded with Robert Handel (bass) & Mark Sippola (guitar & vocals) in 1981. Tom Moore (guitar) joined in 1982 and the band changed their name to The Generic Band. During the first half of their incarnation, the band recorded and performed (once) in Thunder Bay, Ontario. In 1982, the band relocated to Vancouver, BC and continued to record and perform until mid 1983. Sonically, the band was heavily experimental and very limited in technical abilities with most members having minimal prior musical experience. The styles tended to numerous variants on the punk, post punk, no wave & new wave styles.
