A.k.a. Carla van Renesse and The Oldtimers
The Oldtimers were formed in 1973 by Theo Hoekstra. Playing old style jazz, Theo contacted Carla van Renesse to join as a vocalist. The group started with Carla van Renesse and Maurits Hitijahubessy(el-g) [the two most famous in the group], Theo Hoekstra (cl/s), André de Jong(acc), Jan van Dijk(p), Joop Beerta(v/g), Jimmy Piek(g), Siep Kooi(b) and Herman Timmer(d). Within a year Hitijahubessy, Piek and Timmer left. Timmer was replaced by Anton Guns. The line-up Van Renesse, Hoekstra, de Jong, van Dijk, Beerta, Kooi and Guns toured and recorded for four years. In 1978 the band split up. Mainly touring through the northern parts of Holland, they were very succesful performing at "Helvetia"and "Huize Maas" in Groningen among other places.
