According to Twin/Tone Records official website: http://www.twintone.com/ "Shortly before head Overtone Danny Amis went off to join New York's Raybeats, we released these three surf-pop orginals. "Calhoun Surf" on the flip later turned up on the Raybeats' PVC/Jum debut, "Guitar Beat" "Released by Twin/Tone on May 21, 1980, it sold 423 copies. This project is "out of print." _____________ "Surfer's Holiday" was first recorded by Annette Funicello in 1963 for the "Muscle Beach Party" soundtrack. Gary Usher's band the Super Stocks recorded it as well, but the track was not released till decades later. Amis recorded what has become his signature track, the instro "Calhoun Surf" three times: here with the Overtones, then for the Raybeats and once again for the debut album of his longtime band Los Straitjackets.
