Single AU 1984 on A Records label
Alternative (Punk)
1000 copies pressed. Issued with large fold-out poster sleeve (approx 21" x 14") featuring lyrics and DIY artwork. Runouts are hand written. A mistake was made on Side A in the writing process, and a number at the end of the code has been scratched out and re-written as 5. Songwriting credited to Fats Parameter on the back of sleeve and A.J. Kneipp (Anthony/Tony) on the labels. The title track also appears on the Brisbane/4ZZZ compilation Behind The Banana Curtain 1975 - 2000. The release has provided its name to a book by Brisbane writer Andrew Stafford, (Pig City: From The Saints To Savage Garden), focusing on the Brisbane music scene, and tracking the political climate, from the 1970's to 2000's. It has also provided the name given to a 2007 concert during which The Parameters played the song in public for the first time, and The Saints (2), The Riptides (2), Ups And Downs, Pineapples From The Dawn Of Time, Custard, Regurgitator, and other Brisbane Bands reformed or appeared in various guises. 750 Rebels used both the title and artwork on their 2017 Record Store Day release, Pig City.
