The Pipes and Drums of the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa (Duke of Edinburgh’s Own) were founded in 1921. Since that time they have participated in many of the military and state functions that take place in Ottawa. During the Second World War, they accompanied the Regiment to Iceland, the United Kingdom and on to continental Europe eventually taking part in the Victory Parade at Utrecht, The Netherlands in 1945. In addition to its ceremonial and other military duties, the Pipes and Drums of the Cameron Highlanders of Ottawa (Duke of Edinburgh’s Own) participate in numerous local, national and international events. The band has appeared at both the 1974 and 1983 Edinburgh Military Tattoos in Scotland and in the 1976 Rose Bowl Parade in Pasadena, California.
