The Pterodaktyls formed in Edinburgh in 1987 by Nick Kennedy(Farfisa Organ, Vocals), Calum McDonald(Guitar, Vocals), Andy Akhtar(Lead Guitar), Johnny Watson(Lead Vocals), Derek Irvine(Drums) and Ainsley Kerr(Bass). Johnny Watson left in 1988 and Clare Scrivener joined on guitar and Calum moved to lead vocal. The band folded around 1990, Clare went on to form Sally Skull and Nick joined The Thanes.
