Ray Price was a prominent figure on the Australian jazz scene. Ray played in the Dixielanders, and a number of other groups, before forming the Ray Price Qintet (no 'u'). The Qintet gave lecture recitals in schools throughout Australia, teaching jazz history by playing it in its various phases.
