American collective of musicians, led by the inspiration of Paul Buff - founder of PAL Studio in Cucamonga - who also later made a number of recordings at Art Laboe's Original Sound. Hence "The Rotations" would 'rotate', with engineer and multi-instrumentalist Buff joining artists such as Dave Aerni and Frank Zappa in a number of surf-oriented concepts. A few of these ideas also formulated themselves onto some of Zappa's later works.
