Single US 1966 on SOMA label
Rock (Garage Rock)
Pressed By: Delta THERE ARE TWO MIXES: THE FIRST HAS LESS REVERB, DIFFERENT MUSIC-TO-VOCAL BALANCE, A DULLER SOUND, AND IS MISSING AN ACTIVE GUITAR PART AFTER THE BREAK. THE SECOND HAS MORE REVERB, DIFFERENT MUSIC-TO-VOCAL BALANCE, A BRIGHTER SOUND, AND ALSO INCLUDES AN ACTIVE GUITAR PART AFTER THE BREAK. The first mix has "1448-A-RE" and "(triangle) 60200" etched in the "I'll Be Gone" deadwax. And "1448-B-RE" and "(triangle) 60200x" in "The Echoing Past" deadwax. Also, the B-side "The Echoing Past" on the first pressing is noticeably faster by about a half-step musically than the second pressing. I have only found yellow label stock labels of this first mix. But it's possible there could be a white label promo pressing too. The second mix has "6-6297-A" and "Sears Studio Soma" etched in the deadwax. In addition, the label design has the song title "I'll Be Gone" further away from the center hole. There are both white label promo and yellow stock labels of this second mix.
