Formed in Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1964, The S'quires comprised of Greg Thomas, Nes Davison, Al Cook, Mark Hornby and Roy Wilcox. They released just one single titled Green Surf b/w Day Dreams, a pair of rock/surf instrumentals released on Canadian Record Label Barry 3312 in February, 1965. "Green Surf" was written by the band is a melodic fast-tempo surf instrumental rocker with guitars attacking from all directions atop a heavy rhythmic backdrop; excellent rhythm guitar, driving electric bass, drums, reverb guitar and ethereal, soaring keyboards! "Day Dreams" also written by the band is a mid-tempo surf/rock instrumental with very effective whistling, strummed guitar, percolating bass and drums, melodic soaring guitar solo and laid back background vocalists. An excellent double-sided surf instrumental single which entered the Top 40 charts on Feb. 15, 1965 at #28, on radio station CFAC in Calagary, Alberta and shortly thereafter vanished from sight.
