Hailing from the Twente region in the east of The Netherlands, TSC (The Scarlet Claw) are influenced by the top of their genre but make no mistake! Their mixture of Death Metal and a pinch of American Deathcore and Black Metal blend in to a certain sound and music that is clearly their own. Since their first rehearsal, in January 2011, their common goal was clear, “to work hard and become an established name in the European metal scene”. TSC has played shows throughout their home country in major venues, toured the Baltic states, headlined festivals, world-class photographer Stefan Schipper used their song “The Killing Fields” for his Undertaker clothing line promo video (which featured members of Biohazard and Sepultura), they managed to get a song featured on the award winning 22tracks.com website and on the American Sick Drummer Magazine’s Brutal Beatings compilation album, they were part of the “Metal Experience powered by Jack Daniels Tour” and are one of the main acts on the Leviathanfest bill which will tour throughout the Benelux and Germany. During the last cold months of 2010, vocalist MIKE CRESS (Gilo, Forced Evolution) and guitarist NIELS VISSIA (Gilo) decided to join forces once again to start a new band that would take the term “Death Metal” to a whole new level. They recruited the talents of guitarist/ vocalist MARK OVERMAAT (Dead In Decadence), bassist ATTILA VÖRÖS (Altar, Irmin) and drummer FRANK SCHILPEROORT (Altar, Devious, Irmin) to make sure they were able to achieve this goal. The individual members of TSC have earned their stripes with their former bands by playing a total of 1.500+ shows combined throughout Europe supporting bands like Cannibal Corpse, DevilDriver, Hatesphere, Suffocation, Arch Enemy, Soilwork, Napalm Death, Darkane, Vader, Malevolent Creation, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Nachtmystium, Dark Funeral, Death Angel, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Apocalyptica, The Haunted, Entombed, Merauder, Evergrey, Carcass, Sodom, Destruction, Rage & Neaera. TSC released their first EP “Black Orchard” in November 2011 and they will release their debut album in 2013. They already have the attention of international labels and just got added to the Leviathan Agency roster. The future is looking bright for ‘The Claw’!
