"The Scarlets" were a vocal group, ancestors of "The Five Satins", formed in 1953 in New Haven, Connecticut, and consists of six elements. The members of this group were: Fred Parris (Lead Vocals), Sylvester Hopkins (First Tenor Vocals), Nathaniel Mosley Jr. (Second Tenor Vocals) Albert Denby (Baritone Vocals) and William L. Powers (Bass Vocals). The group, from the brief existence (disbanded in 1955) managed to pick up some hits with songs like: "Dear One" and "Love Doll".
