Band,
Rock
In 1969 a seed was planted. There was a revolution going on in the streets and in the music, the end of the flowerpower generation. No more “seasons in the sun” or “flowers in your hair”... Now it was time, time to Kick Out The Jams Motherfuckers! Cranked Marshall amplifiers and out of control fuzz explosions! Yeah! That's what we like! Guitar solos that cut your head off, lyrics about death, love, you and me and sometimes about nothing at all. Drums that bring out the neanderthal in each and everyone of us! Yeah! That's what we like!! Some call it proto-punk or proto-metal. Whatever you want to call it, we call it rock ‘n’ roll. We started this band because we felt an urge to do this, same urge you feel when you have to take a shit, you can't say : “I got no time to do this, I got a busy job...” When you gotta go, you go. Will it be successful? Well, for us it’s already a success, we made an album that we are proud of, an album we would buy ourselves. Success can't always be measured by money or fame... We got both thumbs up from our peers; the Datsuns, Peter Pan Speedrock, the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion. They get it and that means the world to us. It’s about the music, it comes from the inside, not the outside. We don't look like a 60's 70's band, no bellbottom jeans, no long hair or the period correct leather jackets... Fuck that shit, this is not a pose. We care about the music and the sound, if you are still reading this you will by now understand that there are no laptops seen anywere near the stage, that we can not comply with the 90 decibel law under no circumstances. We are comin’ to your town to help you party down, with a sound that abounds and resounds and rebounds of the ceiling! We wear our influences on our sleeves: the MC5, Grand Funk, the Stooges, the Rolling Stones, Little Richard, Link Wray, Roky Erickson, Humble pie and Captain Beefheart, to name but a few. That seed grew into a fruit that we devoured over and over for as long we can remember. So you can come have a taste, either you like it or you don't. There is no middle of the road were we are going. Sincerely yours, The Sha-La-Lee's (copy from the Facebook page)
