R&B/Soul
Amherst, Ohio 1968-70+ The Showmen were formed by Ron Zehel after Ronnie and the Rainbows disbanded. For their only 45, they recorded a tribute song to legendary drag racer "Big Daddy" Don Garlits. Drag racing was very popular in south Lorain County in the 1960s, with the Dragway 42 raceway nearby. The 45 was released on the Boddie subsidiary Soul Kitchen. The record comes with drawing of Garlits on a picture sleeve. The flip side "Judy" is a greaser ballad. Discography: (45) Big Daddy Don / Judy - Soul Kitchen 0014 (PS), 1968
