After going through a number of name and line-up changes The Sick saw the light of day in late 1999 in Falun/Sweden. Consisting of the rythm section from stoner rockers Dozer; Johan Rockner on guitar/vocals and Erik Bäckwall on drums, as well as rythm guitar player Urban Säfström, bass player Erik ”Soda” Öyjen and Christian Rask on vocals. The Sick set out to play music as they liked to hear it: fast, loud and alright, their own blend of Metal, Garage rock and Punk. They recorded their debut album "And the Hell with it" in 2000 for a 2001 release on Molten Universe records throughout Europe, generating great reviews in both Metal Hammer and Kerrang. After a string of succesful gigs in Sweden the band found themselves without a rythm guitarist and singer. The Sick recruited local guitar player Andreas Bajer while Johan took up vocal duties as well as lead guitar. A new bunch of songs were recorded for the 2002 EP "A piece of hit", including a cover of The Sonics "Strychnine", as well as a video for the track Let´s get high. In the middle of the songwriting process for the next album guitarist Bajer disapeared. Soon after, in the spring 2003, the remainder of the band found themselves locked up in a recording studio with the ambition to follow up their debut album. 15 songs were put to tape with some help from their friends - producer Pelle Ferner and background vocals by former lead singer Christian and Per "Sodomizer" Eriksson (ex Katatonia and Bloodbath). No one remembers what happened afterwards, except that the album was never released and the bandmembers never played together again. But now 2014, "Fast from the Past" as the album came to be known is finaly released on iTunes and Spotify.
