The Sidhartas (stylized as The SidhartaS), sometimes shortened as "The Sid" is a band from Potlot, Jakarta The band formed in 2014 as side and experimenting project from Bimbim Slank (drummer of Slank) with his brother and nephews. Instead of playing drums as in his original band, Bimbim Slank took over vocals and rythm guitar in this band. Throughout the year, The Sidhartas compiled 11 tracks and released their first studio-session song titled "PUNK" via Youtube Channel on July 2015 and followed by 3 other songs every 2 weeks after each releases. The band played their first gig on August 12th, 2015 in Hangover Kitchen and Bar, Kemang. Line-up: Bimbim Slank - Vocals and Guitar Massto Popout - Drums Awa San Diogo - Guitars Firas Rachun - Bass the latter name of the members personalized name is the name of their original bands, as they all have a primary band outside The Sidhartas that active right now and already have releases except for Awa's San Diogo The band's name, The Sidhartas is taken from the band's members father/grandfather name, Sidharta M. Soemarno. They dubbed themselves as a Punk (stylized as PUNK!) band to the DIY spirit they holds, although their musics derived from Punk, Basic Rock N Roll, Grunge, and even a little Psychedelic to Experimental/Shoegaze sound.
