Very Cold Is an album of cold electronic music. It mixes sample heavy, distorted, and often bass rooted music with noise and a feeling of absolute dread. It was inspired by spending a week in the frozen north woods of Wisconsin. The Smudge was snowed in. Each track carries a descent into absolute dark. It wants to be found and slid down. Very Cold has a freezing demeanor on each breathy, snow snapping cut, but doesn't fail to leave the stage without a quick laugh at itself. The Smudge submitted this EP (along with album art by Bucko Crooks), to be the first "solo" installment of the new Galactic Intolerance Records catalog.
