A.k.a. D'Pac and Yogi Patel
The Soul Immigrants are brothers D'Pac and Yogi Patel, born and raised in Central England. They immigrated to Canada in the mid-1980s. Their initial production foray brought them to Detroit where they teamed up with Prescription guru Chez Damier and techno giant Kevin Saunderson. This relationship produced several remix projects for artists like D'Pac, Terrance FM, Chez Damier, Dionne, Members of the House, Kim Beacham and Bobby Harding. Their production company Different Shades Production (DSP) started receiving more attention upon the releases of “I Wouldn’t” (Prescription Records) and “Everybody” (Serious Grooves). Their next endeavors brought them home to Toronto where they released The Soul Immigrants and After Dark projects on Crash Records.
