Single UK 2004 on Sparticus Stargazer label
Electronic and Spoken Word (Experimental)
[From liner sheet] The Sparticus Stargazer releases her debut single at the age of 90. Reading the poetry of Peggy Lee & Captain Beefheart. The Sparticus Stargazer says: "I have a great affection for Peg and Don - both are complete artists: they both paint, write, sing with a unique voice." 'Old Hank Schulz' written by Peggy Lee is based from a true life experience. He was the town's alcoholic drayman whom Peggy befriended. But when his wife died the whole town believed he killed her. Captain Beefheart is renowned as a poet for his interesting word plays. 'One Nest Rolls After Another' is a well known poem, which was read by members of the band and by Don himself at his concerts. The reading by the Sparticus Stargazer is truly the gentlest, most affectoinate version yet. Music accompaniment courtesy of DJ Ordeal Liner notes by Sarah Dales.
