Band,
Rock and Pop
One of the most interesting pop bands to emerge from South Africa, The Spectres originally came to life in 1984. However, it was only when vocalist Tara Robb joined in 1985 that things really started to work for them. Their only album, "Be Bop Pop" produced three great singles ("Teddy Bear", "Ancient", and the title track) in 1988/89. Tara Robb (born 1961) was later editor of Top 40 Music Magazine but passed away 13 September 2000. Tara Robb: vocals Gary Rathbone: guitar, vocals Alan Lusk: bass Richard Frost: drums Megan Frost: rhythm guitar
