The Spills is a solo project by Damian Panitz featuring artists and musicians from New York City. Mark of the Beast was written, recorded and performed by Damian Panitz. His long time friend and Mars Bar denizen Gary Reck sang the lyrics one evening in Sounds Right Sound studios. The lyrics take on the possibility of Orwellian future where people have become bank cards and bar codes. The rich become richer and people work harder only to become better consumers.
