R&B/Soul
A Philadelphia-based group with very solid instrumental support and an infectiously upbeat sound, the Symphonics had the honor of being only the second act signed to Curtom Records in 1968, during the company's formative months -- it was also the group's misfortune to join Curtom when the label had no national distribution. Their single "When I Grow Old" b/w "Guilty" was the company's second release, principally in Chicago and other local markets. They were unable to come up with a follow-up for Curtom, although they subsequently cut singles for the Brunswick label.
