As with many young people who make the migration to San Francisco, Claire George and Eric Silverman felt fully liberated from the constraints of their previous social lives. When they met and decided to form The Tropics, the two already shared an immediate, unspoken understanding - what they were setting out to create was the antidote to a stilted scene culture: a free, complete expression of who they were.
