The Vogues (Bob Bush, Jeffrey Gyle, and Diana Hale) began performing in 1956. Their first record (on KEY 579) was issued in the Summer of 1957. It was then re-issued on SURF 5020 by January 1958. These were followed up with two releases on DOT in 1958, and a final release on CASCADE in 1959. Diana Hale (born Diane Schultz November 30, 1933) was a former child actress, having appeared in ALWAYS IN MY HEART and MY FRIEND FLICKA in the 1940's. Jeffrey Gyle also had roots in acting as well as dancing. As Joe Geil, he was a former member of OUR GANG (as "Corky") and was born Joseph George Geil on October 23, 1927 (d. January 1, 1992). As a dancing member of The Jivin' Jacks & Jill's in the 1940's, he'd appear with Donald O'Conner and Dan Daily in various movies. The Vogues were the opening act for Frank Sinatra when he appeared at The Sands Hotel in Reno Nevada in the late 1950's.
