A.k.a. The 5 Willows
US vocal group from Brooklyn, NY. Previously known as The 5 Willows (before dropping the "Five" in 1954 for booking purposes). Harlem doo-wop quintet, formed as "The Dovers" in 1950, with an original lineup comprised of twin brothers Joe Martin and Ralph Martin, Richie Davis, John Steele, and Bobby Robinson, who was replaced in 1952 by Tony Middleton. Best known for "Church Bells May Ring" (1956), which only reached #62 on the charts due to the success of the cover version by The Diamonds.
