Rock (Garage Rock, Arena Rock)
The Zimmerman Twins came to life somewhere in the early 2000’s as a brash, trashy garage rock band, as evidenced on their debut, “It’s All Numb Now”. Over time they developed into the full-fledged rock and roll band that can be found on their 2017 release, “American Tempo”. The band specializes in hook-laden rock delivered with a healthy punch. While maintaining a sound of their own, the Ohio quintet is clearly influenced by the rough-and-tumble sounds of 70’s Rolling Stones and Faces, early Tom Petty, and punk/indie bands like The Stooges and The Replacements. Somewhere in the late 2000’s, the Zimmerman Twins penned a theme song for Toledo’s flat track roller derby team, The Glass City Rollers. It’s Garage rock meets Arena rock… with an odd time signature intro and enough stomp-and-holler riffs to give Gary Glitter a run for his money.
