Thomas Hörbiger

Austrian actor and lyricist, born 11 July 1931 in Berlin, Germany and died 24 May 2011 in Munich, Germany. Son of actor Paul Hörbiger and Josepha „Pippa“ née Gettke. He played in various movies, mainly between 1955 and 1965 (like "Im schwarzen Rößl", "Die Geißel des Fleisches" and "Blutjung und liebeshungrig / Die liebestollen Apothekerstöchter"). He stopped actiong and started to write lyric for Udo Jürgens. They scored a number one hit, eurovision song contest winner and evergreen with Merci Chérie / Das Ist Nicht Gut Für Mich. At the same time, he lived a playboy life by openign discotheques. In the eighties he sold his clubs and opened an hotel.. He is the father of actress Mavie Hörbiger and stage designer Hans Hörbiger
