A.k.a. DJ J. Stone Jones Stone
Thomas Brunner (born c. 1976) is an influential DJ, record collector and record studio owner from Basel Switzerland. He is also well known as a radio DJ. After starting out on a pirate radio, and producing shows/mixes for various legal Switzerland-based radio stations, most notable including Switzerland biggest station DRS3, he was recruited to the basel local Radio Basilisk in 2005. Brunner is known for his eclectic musical selections and his focus has always been Jazz music, generally Modern Jazz, with a strong emphasis on it’s use in a club environment, mixed with associated music styles. So you can hear him playing anything from dub and reggae through jazz, nu- jazz, funk, soul, neo soul, quality R&B to drum and bass, house, broken beat, hip-hop, Jazz-funk, latin, bossa nova, samba and beyond. Widely acclaimed as a musical tastemaker, he spreads his influence on music listeners around the world mostly through his livingroom.fm radio show on Radio Basilisk that digs deep in contemporary electronic music which is also broadcasted live on the livingroom.fm website and now available for audio streaming online. He also does another version of the show which gets syndicated to radio stations all over the world, such as Radio Helsinki in Finland, and also produces a British Airways „BA Club World“ CD Compilation and in-flight music entertainment too. Parallel to this, his frequent DJing gigs around Switzerland have lead to a ever growing followship of fans and listeners in the intellectual electronic-soul-jazz music scene, especially trough projects like the “BA Club World” formats etc. - perhaps rather apt, given the name of his radio show is livingroom.fm
