I starting writing songs in 1995 as a 15 year old boy in Mooroopna, Country Victoria. The first group I was in was called The Alliance with Dan Murphy, we made a bedroom mixtape in 1999 in Geelong and made various performances on the formula hip hop show on pbs in Melbourne, spitting writtens, freestyles and battles. We even made an appearence on the hard to get Formula mixtape alongside Trem, Balans and Brad Strut which was released early 2001. I went on to form a group with Aetcix called Field Trip and also made an album with Brisbane producer Dave V under the name Mankind. Since then I have made 3 solo albums and have featured on tracks with various artists in Australia and around the world. I made music with many different people and lived in many different places over the years including Mooroopna, Brisbane, Melbourne, Geelong and now Bunbury, Western Australia. I have released 6 albums to date, Field Trip (Thorts & Aetcix) Self Titled EP 2004 Distro through Shogun distribution , Mankind (Thorts & Dave V) - IIWII (It Is What It Is) 2007 Distro through Obese Distribution, Thorts - Bleeding Heart Muzik 2009 Distro through Obese distribution, Thorts - louder ACTIONS are NEEDED 2010 free digital upload. Thorts/Kady Starling – Come What May/Waiting to expire 2018 Released through Dora Dorovitch, Thorts & Aetcix – Frog brothas’99. I have just released a split vinyl/digital album with my wife Kady Starling fka Kadyelle titled Come what may/Waiting to expire which is available on the Dora Dorovitch bandcamp page. I have also just released an ep with Aetcix titled Thorts & Aetcix - Frog brothas'99 which is available through the fuzzy warblez bandcamp page, hopefuly we will have a song up on here shortly.
