R&B Group 3 Shades Brown were a 90s R&B/Hip-Hop trio that consisted of former Jesse Johnson backup singer, Kim Cage, rapper Christi Thornton and backup singer, Leah Johnson. They were signed to Interscope Records and in 1992 they released their only album, “Stronger Than Strong” which peaked at #98 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart in June of that year, and spawned their only single release, “Nasty Bass”.
