Electronic and Pop
Stephen Duffy formed the band TinTin (a.k.a. Tin Tin) in 1982 with Fashion's John Mulligan and Dik Davis, Andrew Growcott of Dexys Midnight Runners, and producer Bob Lamb. That same year, within 24 hours of signing to Warner, the band recorded the first version of "Kiss Me", which was a flop in the UK but became a US club hit on Sire in 1983. A re-recorded version was released in the UK in 1984, the same year Duffy went solo as Stephen "TinTin" Duffy and recorded a third version with the help of Nicholas Froome and J.J. Jeczalik. That version was released in 1985 and became a huge club hit.
