World, Folk and Blues
Malian group, formed in 1982. Plays a mix of blues, rock and traditional Tuareg music. "Tinariwen" means "empty place" in the language of the Berbers of the Saharan desert. The artwork of some of the band's releases features symbols which look like "+10:1", "+IO:I" or similar. This is not a mathematical formula or any other alphanumerical Latin script but the band's name in Tifinagh script.
