Band,
Phillip Young, Chris Marshall, and Jordan Mayland are all known for work in other bands, including Callen’s Mudmen, Mantis Pincers, Wheelers, Annalibera, and Nuclear Rodeo. However, there is magic when the trio get together and perform as Tires. A mostly instrumental band, Tires is experimental electronic noise that is pounding, driven, and chaotic. Never afraid to try a new sound or a new setup, even if it means getting power tools involved, Tires star has been steadily rising around Iowa—and after a successful tour earlier this year, their acclaim has spread across the US. The band recorded two EP’s—EP1 and EP2—in late 2011 and early 2012, showcasing their ability and offering a sample of what they’re capable of. However, it’s their live show that truly captures the controlled chaos that is Tires. With their history of experimentation and penchant for possible destruction, there is truly no telling what Tires has in store for 80/35. Written By: Dave Murphy, Iowaves Music
